A good Samaritan, who monitors a local feral cat colony, found a young mother starving and trying to feed her litter of six kittens. She was barely nine months old herself and this most have been her first litter. She was a good mom, but in a cold snowy Colorado spring she had little resources. The good Samaritan was able to live trap the entire family and The Lexie Fund provided assistance to help with the medical costs for the family, including spaying and neutering.
All of the kitten found amazing loving homes, they are indoor only cats now. Mom never adapted to being inside although she began to get use to people. She was placed in a local barn cat program. She has a warm place to sleep, regular meals and all the mice she can catch.
